Forearm injury help.
March 03, 2010 08:22PM
I just got back from the climbing gym and I injured myself. I am not sure exactly what is hurt though. The injury happened as i was doing a two finger pocket curl up, then having that hold be a type of undercling. my middle and ring finger were in the hold and when it was in an undercling position i felt a bit of a pop outside my elbow. I immediatly came off the wall. The pain only manifests itself in my extendor muscles outside of my elbow. The pain is only when i try gripping something with just my ring finger. Anyone have any thoughts on this matter? There is no pain when I am not doing anything with my arm, but i do experiance some sharp pain when i move my arm in strange ways, like reaching back for my wallet, or picking up my backpack...

Thanks

Joshua.

I know it was a while ago, but you strained a finger extension muscle for sure. I hope you took some time off or if you didn't and it's still bothering you, consider resting. An injury like this can turn into tendonitis/osis without proper rest. Let me know if you have any further questions and I'll check the forum more often!
