Clicking in A2.

Index finger left hand. When i press the pulley and perform range of motion of the finger i can feel a clicking or a catching of the tendon as it move through the pulley. I know that i strained /partially tore the A2 pulley. Since then I have done no closed handed crimping for the last 4 months. only very easy openhanded climbing. It gives no or slight pain depending on the length of the session. I know i have a bit of healing to do before the A2 is ready for aggressive climbing but is the clicking normal for a healing pulley? or is there something else i should be concerned with.
Thanks
J

Hey man,
It sounds like tenosynovitis; thickening of the tendon that's catching in the pulley. This can get pretty painful if it gets too inflamed. If it was my finger I'd rest it (not climb) and see a professional.
I'm not an expert on injuries, but this sounds like a similar condition to one I have had.

Good advice, Ben.
J, you don't want it to turn into trigger finger. Google it and treatment, and you'll see they recommend rest from grip activities in order to prevent it.
